The New Girls

Irises are a recent addition to my garden. I've planted about nine of them over the last couple years. I currently have the following:

• Blackwater

• Anvil of Darkness

• Diamond Lake

• Captain's Choice

• Rosalie Figge

• Swingtown

• Boston Cream

• Pagan Dance

They haven't really taken hold yet. Last year, I got a couple of blooms off of Diamond Lake and this year Swingtown and Pagan Dance have bloomed. I think this year the really late snow (on May 11) caused some of the Irises to lose their blooms.

I hold out hope that they'll start to take off in the next few years. There was recently a sale so I've ordered a bunch more to plant in the fall to enjoy next year.
