Where I Shop

When I first started my garden journey, I used to get my plants from Home Depot or a random Garden Centre. Now I have a few places where I get most of my plants. In most cases, I like to plan during the winter and lock in my purchases before spring.

Canning Perennials

I get a lot (most) of my plants from Canning Perennials. I order by the end of March each year to get a 10% discount and then drive to pick up the order to get another 10%. The plants are really nice and the owner is lovely. They only do orders by pickup/mail and you cannot go to browse.

Colour Paradise

Colour Paradise is a nursery that isn't too far from me. It has an really nice selection of plants and their plants are beautiful. While we were all on lockdown, they had online ordering. I ordered way too many plants, including annuals, perennials and vegetables.

Gentlemen's Backyard

Gentlemen's Backyard is a mail-order website (small business). I ordered from this website for the first time this spring. The prices are very reasonable and the shipping seems to be a fair price. I ordered in early May and it took about a month to get my order (may have been because of COVID). The plants were well packed and are growing well.

Breck's

Breck's is a mail-order website from Holland with a distribution site in Ontario. It has a nice selection and the prices aren't bad when you wait for the sales. Their plants don't always last. I order mostly perennial plugs, bulbs and bulb fertilizer from them.

Vesey's

Vesey's is a mail-order website on PEI. It has a nice selection and the prices aren't bad when you wait for the sales. Their plants don't always last. I order mostly perennial plugs and bulbs from them. This year I ordered veggie seeds and starter plants from them too.
